Job summary

Suffolk Credit Union is seeking a Floating Assistant Branch Manager to provide coverage for branch management in the Eastern Region (Miller Place, Sayville, East Port, Riverhead). You will supervise and coach branch staff, oversee day-to-day operations, and help deliver exceptional member service.

This role requires strong leadership, a high school diploma, and supervisory experience in a financial institution; notary and NMLS credentials are required or will be obtained.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a financial institution; 3 years of supervisory experience overall.
• Customer service experience, preferably in banking.
• Notary license to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• NMLS-MLO credential required and provided at time of hire if not already held.
• Bilingual ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee branch employees and floating staff; organize, schedule, coach, and participate in staffing decisions with People Operations and management.
• Manage scheduling, time cards, and training for branch staff and floating teams.
• Monitor branch performance to ensure goals are met and service is delivered.
• Assist staff with escalated issues and provide services to members.
• Oversee ITM and Cash Recycler maintenance in branches.
• Approve membership applications, open accounts, and process loan applications.
• Handle cash orders, wire transfers, deposits, reversals, and debit card issues.
• Participate in branch audits and ensure compliance.
• Assist in collections and coordinate with Collections department for member solutions.
• Support process improvements, community events, leadership training, and cross-department coordination.
