Job summary

Suffolk Credit Union in Islandia, NY seeks an Assistant Branch Manager to oversee daily branch operations and develop staff to elevate member satisfaction. You will supervise scheduling, coaching, performance reviews, and collaborate with People Operations on staffing decisions.

The role involves handling escalated member issues, cross-selling products, approving memberships and loan reviews, and ensuring policy compliance while delivering outstanding service in a community-focused credit union.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Notary license required or to be obtained within 3 months of hire.
• NMLS-ID required and will be provided at time of hire if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Oversee branch staff through organizing, scheduling, coaching, counseling, appraising, and staffing decisions with HR/leaders.
• Manage scheduling, time cards, and training for all branch staff.
• Monitor branch performance to meet goals and standards.
• Assist employees with escalated problem resolution and direct member service needs.
• Cross-sell and provide information on credit union products to enhance member engagement.
• Approve new memberships, open accounts, and review loan applications for completeness.
• Handle approvals for cash orders, wire transfers, fee reversals, and holds on checks/deposits.
• Assist members with debit/ATM card issues and processing wires with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with Collections to resolve issues and set up member payment solutions.
• Conduct outbound calls for sales opportunities, loan follow-ups, and problem resolution.
• Ensure branch appearance aligns with standards and proper placement of materials.
