Job summary

Suffolk Credit Union is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to lead daily branch operations and develop staff, enhancing member satisfaction. The role involves supervising employees, coordinating scheduling, coaching, and partnering with HR and leadership on staffing decisions.

You will monitor performance against goals, handle escalated member issues, cross-sell credit union products, and approve new memberships, accounts, loans, and cash-related transactions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of supervisory experience in a financial institution; 3 years supervisory experience overall.
• Notary license required or to be obtained within three months of hire.
• NMLS-ID (Mortgage Loan Originator) required and provided at hire if not already acquired.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for member relations.
• Familiarity with banking policies, lending, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise branch staff with scheduling, coaching, and performance appraisals.
• Collaborate with People Operations and leadership on staffing decisions.
• Manage schedules, timekeeping, and training for branch personnel.
• Monitor branch performance to meet goals and standards.
• Assist members with escalated issues and provide excellent service.
• Cross-sell and inform members about credit union products.
• Approve new memberships, open accounts, and review loan apps for completeness.
• Handle approvals for cash orders, wire transfers, and holds.
• Assist with debit/ATM card issues and processing wires with documentation.
• Coordinate with Collections to resolve issues and arrange repayment solutions.
• Conduct outbound calls for sales, loan follow-ups, and issue resolution.
• Maintain branch appearance and ensure proper placement of materials.
