Job summary

Suffolk Credit Union is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager to oversee daily branch operations, supervise staff, and drive member satisfaction. You will coordinate scheduling, training, and performance reviews while collaborating with People Operations on staffing decisions.

Role includes approving memberships and loans, handling escalations, cross-selling products, and ensuring compliance with lending and regulatory standards. A notary and MLO credentials are required or provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a financial institution; 3 years overall.
• Notary license must be obtained within 3 months of hire; NMLS-MLO will be provided if not already held.
• Familiar with credit union products, policies, and applicable regulations.
• Strong communication and discretion handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all branch employees through organizing, scheduling, coaching, counseling, appraising, and collaborating with HR and leadership on staffing decisions.
• Manage scheduling, time cards, and training for branch staff to ensure efficient operations.
• Monitor branch performance to meet goals and align with standards.
• Assist employees with escalated problem resolution and service member needs.
• Cross-sell and provide information on credit union products to engage members.
• Approve new memberships, open accounts, and review loan applications for completeness.
• Handle approvals for cash orders, wire transfers, fee reversals, and holds.
• Assist members with debit/ATM card issues.
• Process wire transfers with documentation and compliance.
• Collaborate with Collections to resolve issues and set up payment solutions.
• Conduct outbound calls for sales opportunities and loan follow-up.
• Ensure branch appearance meets standards and proper placement of materials.
