Job summary

VSP Ventures’ Ideal Eye is seeking a Texas-licensed Floater Optometrist to support growing practices across Central Texas, including North San Antonio, Lockhart, Buda, and Kyle.

You’ll perform comprehensive eye exams, co-manage surgeries, diagnose ocular disease, prescribe and dispense lenses, respond to eye emergencies, and educate patients using advanced diagnostic technology. This role offers up to 40 hours per week with Mon–Fri shifts and some Saturdays, plus a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Texas-licensed Optometrist with ability to support multiple locations across Central Texas.
• Experience with Optometric technology and practices; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye exams.
• Support surgical co-management and diagnose ocular disease.
• Prescribe and dispense corrective lenses; respond to eye emergencies.
• Educate patients on healthy vision using advanced diagnostic technology.
• Travel across Central Texas locations as needed (North San Antonio, Lockhart, Buda, Kyle).
