Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our Chesapeake, VA team. The schedule is Monday–Friday 6am–6pm, with rotating Saturday 8am–12pm. This role involves blood collection across age groups, specimen handling, data entry, and travel to additional sites.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification or training, and a valid driver’s license. Excellent customer service and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 6 months’ or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
• Other Duties as assigned
