Job summary

Oak Street Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to support patient care across centers. You will gather medical information, assist providers, and ensure accurate documentation within the EMR.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, screenings, vaccinations as permitted, and coordinating with care teams. Requires MA certification, 1 year of MA experience, CPR/BLS, EMR proficiency, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Must have state or national certification or completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• At least 1 year of medical assistant experience.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel).
• Ability to communicate in non-English languages as required by center demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow, room patients, take vitals, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Assist with telephonic patient requests (lab results, records).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or uploads.
• Participate in care team meetings and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment.
• Request medical records from external providers.
• Support infection control and quality checks; assist in center lab tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
