Job summary

Intermountain Health Cedar City Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team by performing essential nursing tasks under supervision and potentially serving as a Health Unit Coordinator. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, safety, and teamwork in a dynamic clinical setting.

Responsibilities include documenting patient data, monitoring conditions, and assisting with routine care and comfort measures.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Utah.
• BLS for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen changes, hydration, ambulation, comfort measures, and responding to patient and family requests.
• Record and report patient care findings and changes in condition promptly, securing assistance as needed.
• May perform telemetry duties and function as a patient care attendant by monitoring patients and collaborating with the care team.
• Transport medications from the delivery system to the RN as required on a unit.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Assist with health unit coordination tasks such as answering phones, transcribing orders, and managing unit records.
• Implement plan of care as delegated and perform duties within scope of practice.
