Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team with basic nursing tasks and coordinated unit operations. You will assist with toileting, hygiene, hydration, ambulation, and comfort while communicating clearly with patients and families.

Responsibilities include documenting care, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with RNs and other staff.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of practice.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Utah CNA certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and deliver basic patient care including toileting, bathing, linen changes, hydration, ambulation, and comfort.
• Report and record patient care findings promptly and seek qualified assistance if needed.
• Monitor patients and collaborate with the RN and inter-disciplinary team.
• Transport medications on unit when required and assist on unit tasks.
• May function as Health Unit Coordinator and manage phones, orders, and unit records.
