Job summary

Air Methods is seeking a qualified instructor to oversee safety and qualification for helicopter and fixed-wing pilots undergoing evaluation. Training spans classroom, aircraft, and flight simulator environments, including initial and recurrent sessions.

The role includes creating and managing training schedules, ensuring adherence to procedures, and assisting with pilot records in line with FARs. CFI/CFII rotor wing, Commercial/Instrument rating, and 3–5 years of related experience are

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3–5 years related experience or equivalent
  • Recommendation from a current Air Methods Flight Instructor or Check Airman preferred
  • Commercial/Instrument rating required
  • ATP rating preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate safety and compliance per the General Operations Manual
  • Conduct initial and recurrent ground and flight training
  • Develop and implement training schedules for flight and ground training
  • Ensure standardized training and checking procedures are followed
  • Assist in pilot record keeping in accordance with FARs
  • Operate advanced aviation training devices and full motion simulators

Education

Commercial/Instrument rating required
CFI / CFII (Rotor wing) or willing to obtain in 1 year
ATP rating preferred
