Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking an Instructor/Check Airman Pilot to lead and elevate pilot training, evaluations, and certifications. You will conduct proficiency checks, IOE, and flight instruction while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety excellence across flight operations.

Qualifications

  • FAA Certifications: Commercial Pilot Certificate or an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate; helicopter or airplane rating.
  • Current FAA Second-Class Medical Certificate (or higher).
  • Instrument Rating – Helicopter for VFR/IFR: 2,000 hours total flight time.
  • VFR/IFR 100 hours unaided night flight time.
  • VFR/IFR cross-country: 25 hours at night; IFR 75 actual or simulated hours.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts pilot proficiency checks, evaluations, and IOE per FAA and company policies.
  • Delivers flight and ground instruction for initial, recurrent, and upgrade training.
  • Assesses pilot performance and provides feedback for skills improvement.
  • Develops and updates training materials, lesson plans, and SOPs.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Pilot to address training needs and operational improvements.
  • Mentors pilots to promote professional growth.
  • Participates in safety programs by identifying risks and mitigations.
  • Maintains accurate training records and documentation for regulators and company standards.
  • Assists in recruitment and onboarding of new pilots through evaluations and interviews.
  • Acts as SME during regulatory audits and inspections.
