Job summary

RTX in Cedar Rapids is seeking a full-time co-op student for an immersive internship in software and flight management systems. You will collaborate with software and systems engineers to design, develop, and test features used in military aircraft, while building leadership and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

The program runs May/June–December, with expectations to take a semester off to engage fully.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Experience with C, C++, ADA, and/or Python.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Software and Systems engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
