Job summary

Air Methods in Springfield, IL, seeks an experienced Paramedic to deliver pre-hospital advanced life support from first contact through hospital handoff, supporting ongoing education and professional development.

You will work within state scope, document thoroughly, participate in pre-mission briefings, liftoff checklists, and safe aircraft operations while maintaining readiness for 24/7 on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 3+ years related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three years’ recent experience in a busy 911 system.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital advanced life support care from initial contact to transfer.
• Maintain thorough patient care documentation.
• Practice within state scope of practice and maintain competency.
• Attend at least six educational programs annually relevant to practice.
• Maintain equipment and report failures; ensure rapid response.
• Participate in patient follow-up and outreach activities.
• Perform pre-mission liftoff checklists and assist pilot as needed.
