Air Methods CBS in California recruits an experienced RN to join our helicopter flight team, delivering high-acuity care from base to facility. You’ll use advanced clinical skills during critical transport and continue professional development with our education support.

Requires 3+ years critical care, 1 year flight experience, active RN license, and trauma certifications. You’ll work flexible schedules including 24-hour shifts and contribute to patient care across the Pac West.

Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in health-related field preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent critical care/emergency nursing experience within the last 5 years.
• Pre-hospital experience preferred.
• Flight experience1 year full-time required.

Aufgaben

• Provides nursing care within his/her scope of practice from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility; maintains thorough patient care documentation.
• Maintain and demonstrate competency in clinical knowledge and psychomotor skills through ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences. Communicate educational needs to the Clinical Education Team and maintain current documentation of licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA compliance, clinical rotations, and advanced procedures.
• Equipment and Aircraft Management: Demonstrate proficiency with all Air Methods CBS equipment and supplies. Report medical equipment failures promptly and coordinate repairs. Maintain adequate patient care supplies onboard aircraft and keep the aircraft clean and organized to ensure rapid response capability.
• Flight Operations and Safety: Attend all pre-mission briefings, debriefings, and complete required documentation. Participate in pre-mission checklists and assist the pilot with radio, navigational, and visual observation activities as requested. Strictly comply with all safety standards to protect yourself, medical personnel, patients, and equipment, and conduct aircraft safety briefings when needed.
• Serves as a flight resource to neonatal/pediatric personnel when transporting specialty patients by helicopter and performs advanced skills and procedures as approved by Air Methods CBS Medical Director(s).
• Community Engagement: Participate in patient follow-up, referring institution coordination, and planned outreach marketing and education activities.
• Training and Development: Serve as a preceptor and/or participate in the orientation of new employees and students as assigned. Communicate program goals and objectives to new team members.
• Participates regularly in Air Methods CBS meetings, activities, projects and committees (to include research and publishing opportunities).
