Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Flight and Mission Software Development Lead to work on-site in Huntsville, AL. You will lead Agile software teams, guide architectural decisions, and contribute to production code across C/C++/Rust/C#/Java in defense systems including mission planning and C3.

Collaboration with hardware, test, and management teams is essential. The role requires 8+ years in software development, 3+ years in leadership, and a proven track record delivering fielded software products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 8+ years of relevant technical software development experience.
• 3+ years leading teams and acting as Scrum Master or Agile facilitator.
• Strong hands-on development in at least one language (C/C++/Rust/C#/Java) and OO design.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Scrum Master and Agile team facilitator, managing sprint ceremonies and backlog grooming.
• Lead a Software IPT with authority on technical and program decisions and architectural direction.
• Contribute to production code, perform design/code reviews, and ensure code quality standards.
• Coordinate across hardware, test, systems, and management teams for integrated solutions.
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders to align requirements and delivery timelines.
