Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Flight and Mission Software Development Lead for our Huntsville, AL office. You will head a software team through the SDLC to deliver advanced defense software for mission-critical systems and platforms.

The role spans from embedded to high-level applications, with direct customer interaction and proposal contributions. You will guide architecture, testing, and integration across diverse hardware and software environments while ensuring timely delivery, quality, and

Qualifications

12+ years of relevant technical experience
3+ years leading teams and managing software development resources
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and team leadership skills
Experience with C, C++, Rust, C#, or Java in software products or simulations
Familiar with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control management
Understanding of software development lifecycle and rapid development for high-quality solutions
Able to multi-task and drive proposals, technical solutions, and estimates
U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance

Responsibilities

Lead a Software IPT and coordinate cross-functional teams across the software stack
Direct software program management and interface with architects and test engineers
Contribute to proposals, including technical solutions, schedules, and cost estimates
Communicate with customers and internal stakeholders regularly
Influence positive outcomes on fieldable defense systems
