Job summary

RTX is seeking a Product Owner and Technical Lead for Flight Management & Controls in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will lead FM&C development for military avionics programs, guiding architecture decisions and coordinating across agile teams onsite.

You will own the backlog, manage design tradeoffs, and ensure delivery within schedule and budget while traveling up to 10% as needed. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of relevant experience or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and their application in large-scale projects.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management.
• Ada or C/C++ experience.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.
• Experience developing avionics displays and/or Flight Management Systems (FMS).
• Experience with DO-178 or similar certification processes.
• Proven cross-functional leadership and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary FM&C liaison to assigned programs, ensuring flight management systems align with schedule and requirements.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive story backlog outlining tasks.
• Collaborate across department agile teams to delegate tasks and track progress.
• Own design decisions as the lead engineer on development scope.
• Oversee all FM&C efforts within assigned programs.
• Drive the department’s contributions to bids and proposals.
• Ability to travel ≤10% as needed.
