Job summary

RTX is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the FOMAX 7 program from Burnsville, MN or Cedar Rapids, IA. You will coordinate cross-functional engineering teams, manage technical requirements, and maintain program scope and schedules onsite.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the Project Chief Engineer, Earned Value tracking, and risk management within aerospace engineering standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years of experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Experience in project development within systems, software, or hardware engineering disciplines.
Experience managing projects: scheduling, cost plans, and interfacing with manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

Execute day-to-day development activities for the FOMAX 7 program.
Serve as the technical interface to the Project Chief Engineer and engineering teams.
Ensure engineering accountability for meeting technical requirements and program scope.
Maintain and manage the program schedule.
Ensure compliance with established engineering processes.
Act as a liaison between the Project Chief Engineer and engineering teams.
Assist in tracking Earned Value, financial management, and schedule maintenance for engineering activities.
Manage risk and opportunity for related engineering activities.
