Job summary

Gate Gourmet is seeking a Material Manager for its flight kitchen operations at Miami International Airport. The role oversees production standards, scheduling, labor controls, and efficiency while ensuring quality and customer service at the highest level.

Reporting to the Director of Assembly Process, you will lead a team, train subordinates, and collaborate with management to improve unit performance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory/management experience, scheduling and financial acumen.
• In-flight catering experience or experience in high-volume food service preferred.
• Labor relations experience a plus.
• Experience with menu design a plus.
• Strong leadership, communication, and ability to train others.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures unit maintains production standards.
• Ensures labor controls are in place and are effective.
• Ensures interdepartmental communication occurs regularly.
• Assist in the development and training of subordinates.
• Work with management staff to improve performance of the unit.
• Prepares administrative reports as required.
• Responsible for safety, quality and compliance to customer specifications.
