Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Flight Dynamics Software Engineer to design, build, test, and deploy FDS microservices and data pipelines for orbit maintenance and collision avoidance.

You will collaborate with ATX and mission operations to ensure Blue Ring vehicles stay safely on orbit, translate astrodynamics algorithms into production services, and support pre‑flight testing, training, and safety‑critical standards.

Qualifications

• BS or higher degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Experience across full software development lifecycle including design, implementation, verification and release.
• Experience with build automation, CI/CD, configuration management and deployment.
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and Linux/Unix environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, verify and deploy FDS microservices for orbit maintenance and collision avoidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and architectures.
• Translate astrodynamics algorithms into production services.
• Develop prototypes to prove concepts and assess risks.
• Produce documentation for architecture, verification, user manuals and training.
