Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Special Care Aide in Austin, Texas (PRN, part-time). You will be the first face clients see, facilitating a positive experience from day one while coordinating with branch leadership.

Ideal candidates have at least six months of caregiving experience, a relevant certification, and strong communication skills. Travel across the service area and flexibility are part of this role, with opportunities for growth within Elara Caring.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, where required by state regulations.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required.
• Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices, apps, and electronic documentation systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.
• Reliable personal transportation, current registration, and auto insurance.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities.
• Performing housekeeping and household support.
• Assisting with errands and transportation when appropriate.
• Maintaining accurate documentation and visit records.
• Providing coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs.
• Traveling throughout the assigned service area to support clients.
• Promoting Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care.
