Ohio Substitute Teacher Services (OSTS) connects substitute teachers with opportunities across Ohio, including Bellaire Local Schools. We support applicants from all backgrounds and can assist with credentialing. If you are retired, a new graduate, or exploring substitute teaching for the first time, we look forward to meeting you.

Pay rate is $100.00 per day. This is a part-time, as-needed role with opportunities to work across various districts, providing valuable classroom experience along

Qualifications

• Criminal record check: clean record for public school employment (FBI/BCI) within 365 days of hire.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field required.
• Provide three professional references.
• Teaching License or eligibility to obtain Ohio Substitute Teacher License.
• Complete SubSkills Online training and mandatory professional development via PublicSchoolWorks.

Responsibilities

• Follows lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Ensure student supervision and safety.
• Keep students engaged and on task.
• Monitor student progress and assist where needed.
• Follow existing classroom management and discipline procedures.
• Understand school policies and procedures.
• Provide written feedback to the regular teacher.
