No teaching background is required to apply; we guide you through the licensing process and onboarding. As an OSTS substitute, you follow lesson plans, supervise students, and maintain classroom order.

Qualifications

• Criminal record check dated within 365 days of hire.
• Bachelor's Degree in any field required.
• Provide three professional references.
• Obtain or hold an Ohio Substitute Teacher License or Teaching License.
• Complete SubSkills Online training and required PD on PublicSchoolWorks.

Responsibilities

• Follows lesson plans as provided by the absent teacher.
• Maintains a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Ensures student supervision and safety at all times.
• Keeps students engaged and monitored for progress.
• Maintains attendance records and classroom management procedures.
• Provides written feedback to the regular teacher.
