Job summary

The Kroger in Stoughton, WI is seeking a dedicated Cashier/Checker to deliver an outstanding customer experience. You will greet customers, answer questions, and maintain a clean, safe store environment that makes shoppers feel valued.

In this role you will process transactions accurately at the check lane, handling cash, cards, SNAP EBT, coupons, and loyalty offers while following store policies to prevent loss and ensure food safety compliance. This position is on-site and part-time.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)
• Prior experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers in-store.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the POS system and handle tender types (Cash, Checks, Credit, Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, Rain checks, coupons).
• Adhere to policy on cash handling, shortages/overages, and loss prevention.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs)
• Report pricing discrepancies and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety and safety procedures, inspect equipment, and report issues.
