Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier/Checker to create an outstanding customer experience at our Pewaukee, WI store. You will greet customers, process transactions, and operate the POS system while following company policies and safety guidelines.

In this role you will manage various tenders, adhere to cash-handling rules, and support loss-prevention efforts, ensuring a welcoming and efficient checkout for all shoppers.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers visibly and proactively.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand POS system and handle cash, checks, credit/debit, and coupons per policy.
• Adhere to cash-handling limits and loss-prevention procedures.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator and follow store procedures.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and safe operating procedures in the checkout area.
