Job summary

The YMCA is hiring a School Age Teacher to oversee health, safety, and personal growth for youths aged 5–12. You will plan and supervise daily recreational activities to promote social skills and engagement while maintaining a 1:18 staff-to-child ratio.

Requirements include 18+ years old, current Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and 240 hours as an Assistant Teacher in a group childcare setting. Willingness to learn Wisconsin childcare regulations and collaborate with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Maintain Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED current.
• Experience: 240 hrs. as Assistant Teacher in a group childcare center.
• Experience working with children and ability to learn state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate recreational activities for ages 5–12.
• Ensure health and safety of each youth and maintain a 1:18 ratio.
• Greet parents and manage check-in/check-out; supervise site and equipment.
• Prepare provided food daily and assist with guest teachers/interns.
• Coordinate with Site Director and act as Site Director when needed.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings; substitute at other sites as needed.
