Job summary

The Kenosha YMCA is seeking a School Age Teacher to oversee the health, safety and growth of children ages 5–12. You will plan and supervise daily activities, maintain a 1:18 ratio, and support the Site Director in implementing curriculum-based programs.

Responsibilities include greeting families, ensuring all children are accounted for, and assisting with supervision of guest teachers. Must meet licensing qualifications and hold current Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• Must have 240 hrs. experience as Assistant Teacher in a group childcare center.
• Must meet Wisconsin state licensing qualifications as a childcare teacher/lead teacher.
• Must keep Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED Certificate current.
• Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by state law.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, supervise & evaluate recreational activities daily for youth ages 5-12.
• Maintain health and safety of each youth.
• Greet parents upon arrival and pick-up.
• Sign In/Out accurately and approve payroll timesheets.
• Assist Site Director in curriculum planning and activities and act as Site Director when needed.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings; substitute at other School Age sites as needed.

The School Age Teacher is responsible for the health, safety, welfare, and personal growth of each youth, ages 5-12 within a 1:18 ratio.
