Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. This role involves fiber testing with OTDR, splicing, fault diagnosis, and field troubleshooting across diverse environments.

You will handle installation, termination, and testing of fiber cabling, document results, and coordinate with clients and project stakeholders. A 1099 contractor role with on-site travel is offered.

Qualifications

• 1 year of fiber/IT/telecom experience or 5+ years field experience.
• Certifications: FOA, CFOT, BICSI, Network+, or equivalent.
• Must have own vehicle, valid driver's license, and field readiness.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to:
• Fiber optic splicing using fusion and mechanical splicing techniques.
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments.
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across various environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecommunications, and data center facilities.
