Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. You will perform fiber testing, splicing, OTDR testing, and troubleshooting in diverse environments.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of Fiber/IT/Telecom experience and relevant certifications OR 5+ years of field experience. Positions are 1099 contractor with on-site pay and travel compensation.

Qualifications

• Fiber testing and troubleshooting experience required.
• Experience with OTDRs, power meters, light sources, fiber certification equipment, and visual fault locators.
• Understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic systems.
• Familiarity with structured cabling standards and best practices.
• Ability to read network diagrams, splice schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• At least 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience, and one of the listed certifications OR 5+ years verifiable field experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic tasks including splicing (fusion/mechanical).
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, remediation, and jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode cabling.
• Identify and troubleshoot customer-premise and network impairments.
• Document test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across environments (retail, medical, corporate, data center).
• Maintain professionalism with clients and stakeholders.
• Be available for service requests within coverage territory.
