The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Substitute Teacher for Early Education (PRN) at Huntington YMCA. This part-time/per diem role supports ongoing classroom activities under the Lead Teacher and Child Development Director.

You will implement curriculum, communicate with families, maintain a safe, engaging environment, and help promote healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development through age-appropriate learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Working towards EEC certification (required)
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Knowledge of group process
• Commitment to the philosophy and goals of the YMCA
• Effective leadership and crisis management skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Responsabilités

• Keep safety of children as a first priority in a family-friendly, age-appropriate environment
• Facilitate YMCA core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility
• Use positive behavior guidance methods
• Supervise children and manage transitions
• Assist Lead Teacher with classroom space design and with supplies
• Assist with assessments through reports and surveys
• Provide a well-balanced curriculum supporting social, emotional, physical, cognitive, language development
• Use developmentally and linguistically appropriate curricula and plan for individual needs
• Participate in designated training hours
• Be accountable for all children and communicate with parents daily
• Adhere to YMCA, branch, and Department of Early Education and Care rules
• Perform duties as directed by leadership
