Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is hiring a Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher at Huntington YMCA. Under Site Director supervision, you will implement curriculum, update records, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom that supports growth, social skills, and school readiness.

You will work with families, participate in training, and ensure alignment with MA guidelines while modeling professionalism and teamwork in a hands-on learning environment.

Qualifications

• Lead Teacher must meet Department of Early Education and Care standards.
• Bachelor's degree required and first aid/CPR certification within 6 months.
• Excellent communication with families and staff; strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to YMCA mission and youth development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and emotional well-being of children; model professional behavior.
• Plan curriculum, assess progress, and communicate with families.
• Supervise children, ensure smooth transitions, and uphold licensing rules.
• Collaborate with Site Director on daily duties and program needs.
• Engage in ongoing training; attend staff and regional events.
• Lead activities aligned with MA guidelines and individualize when needed.
