Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. seeks enthusiastic instructors to join our after-school enrichment program in Barnesville, MD. Lead small chess classes, engage elementary students, and reinforce good sportsmanship using our curriculum.

Enjoy flexible hours with 1–5 classes per week, travel between local schools, and mileage reimbursement for longer trips. Training and ongoing support are provided to help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar).
• Ability to lead a class independently and create interactive, friendly sessions.
• Professional, positive, and kid-friendly demeanor.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves and basic tactics to kids.
• Reliability with transportation and ability to drive between locations.
• Availability on weekday afternoons (2:00 PM–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use structured curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.
• Travel to local school sites for each session.
