Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, reliable instructors to join our after-school chess program in Arlington, VA. You will lead engaging sessions for elementary students, following a structured curriculum and promoting good sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include managing a lively classroom, traveling to multiple school sites, and maintaining punctuality. The role offers flexible hours with 1–5 classes per week and competitive pay per class.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or supervising groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create engaging, friendly, and fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor is essential.
• Strong understanding of chess fundamentals and the ability to explain movement, strategy, and tactics.
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life situations.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between school sites.
• Weekday afternoon availability to teach 1–5 classes per week (2:00–5:00 PM).
• Commitment to school safety policies and reliable, punctual conduct.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
