Job summary

Addus HomeCare is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and people with disabilities living in their homes. The role requires on-call coverage 5 days per week (at least one weekend day) with 40 hours per week and 20 hours guaranteed.

The Home Care Aide - Core will follow care plans, assist with daily tasks, and provide compassionate in-home support after training. The position emphasizes reliable, self-motivated individuals who can work with limited supervision and maintain

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Must have reliable transportation; if by car, a valid driver's license and proof of insurance is required.
Nurturing and compassionate nature with the desire to care for others.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, energetic, self-motivated and well-organized.

Responsibilities

Call into the office every morning for assignment and on-call for 24 hour shifts.
Follow specific care plans for clients and report on completed tasks.
Assist with personal care needs (bathing, dressing, etc.).
Provide or assist in routine house cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry.
Transport client to appointments and errands.
Assist client with self-administration of medications.
Observe and report changes in client condition.
