Job summary

Addus HomeCare is urgently hiring Flex Home Care Aides to support seniors and others in their homes. The role is on call five days per week with a weekend day and 40 hours per week (20 hours guaranteed). Schedule is set by the supervisor and assignments cannot be refused.

Tasks include following care plans, assisting with personal care, light housekeeping, meals, transportation, and medication self-administration. Strong communication and reliability are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Reliable transportation or means to travel to client homes.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Call office each morning for assignments.
• Follow care plans and report completed tasks.
• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing).
• Provide light housekeeping, meal prep and laundry.
• Transport client to appointments and errands.
• Assist client with medication self-administration.
• Observe and report changes in client conditions.
