Job summary

IntersectHC is seeking a Food and Nutrition Aide/Cook to support our hospital dining services. The role covers 4pm-8pm shifts on alternating weekends, with flex shifts as needed.

The Cook prepares meals per planned menus, adhering to nutrition guidelines and safety standards, while delivering quality service to residents and staff. Candidates should have at least six months in quantity food prep and familiarity with sanitation practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months paid quantity food preparation and working with recipes for 25–50 servings.
• Some formal or on-the-job training in quantity food preparation, estimating quantities, storing food supplies, sanitation and safety.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve various food items.
• Report exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals to the Director of Food Services.
• Ensure staff compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Review menus prior to preparation and inspect diet trays to assure correct diets.
• Prepare meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
• Follow infection control and safety policies; maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Assist in inventorying and storing incoming food and supplies.
