Job summary

Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will support daily living activities, assist with meals, and work under the supervision of a registered nurse to ensure quality, compassionate care.

The role requires a CNA certification and a willingness to participate in ongoing training and infection prevention protocols. Schedule varies, with eligibility for a sign-on bonus and flexible shifts depending on the unit

Qualifications

• High school graduate preferred but not required.
• Minimum age 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or in process of obtaining certification within four months.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and meals.
• Record vital signs and report changes to the RN.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Provide basic health care support and psychosocial assistance; participate in care planning and infection prevention.

Education

CNA certification (State Board of Nursing) or state certified CNA
