Good Samaritan in De Smet, SD seeks a Nursing Assistant (CNA) to deliver resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will assist with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic health needs under RN supervision, while adhering to infection control policies and PPE use.

The role offers a flex schedule with varying shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends, plus a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state-certified CNA within four months of date into the position by enrollment or in process of certification.
• Annual continuing education requirement: minimum 12 hours.
• May classify as Sanford Category II Driver, requiring a valid driver's license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and health monitoring, including vital signs.
• Support infection prevention and PPE protocols.
• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and mobility using proper techniques.
• Assist with meals, dining, and nutrition support.
• Document resident interactions and communicate changes to nursing staff.
