Job summary

Coast Electric Power Association in Kiln, MS, is seeking a Fleet Technician to join our Fleet Maintenance team. You’ll assist with inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Coast Electric and CoastConnect’s vehicles and equipment, and participate in our structured Fleet Technician Training Program to advance toward Master Fleet Technician.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; high school diploma preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in automotive setting as a technician.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain a Mississippi Class A CDL within six months of hire.
  • Willingness to participate in and complete the Fleet Technician Training Program.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment (oil changes, lubrication, battery inspection, tire maintenance).
  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair fleet vehicles and equipment (bucket trucks, digger derricks, tractors, trailers).
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and manuals to identify and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Assist with field service repairs, roadside assistance, and emergency maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and daily timesheets.
  • Follow safety procedures and proper hazardous material handling.
