Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a Transportation Mechanic Sr. to maintain and repair a diverse vehicle fleet including bucket trucks and digger derricks. The role covers electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems with field travel to job sites.

Applicants must have 3–5 years of related experience, be able to obtain a Class A CDL within a year, and pass required safety trainings. Onsite work with some travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year in automotive industry or an automotive certificate/degree.
• Personal hand tools up to 1"; tools provided beyond that.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
• Team player willing to work with other mechanics and employees.
• Within 90 days of employment obtain DOT med card and within 365 days obtain Class A CDL (depending on schedule).
• Within 90 days obtain air brake inspector certification; safety training per schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic mechanical tasks using mechanic hand tools.
• Operate computer-based applications (Outlook, Maximo, Service Suite, etc.).
• Provide routine maintenance and inspections on Entergy fleet equipment.
• Perform DOT inspections and related documentation.
• Dismantle and repair vehicles and equipment as required.
• Direct assistants and train other staff.
• Operate forklifts or cranes for loading/unloading as needed.
• Order parts and ensure proper returns processing.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Complete time reporting and safety training as required.
