Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Diesel Technician B (Advanced Technician) in Florida. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks and equipment, expanding your technical expertise while supporting a fast-growing fleet.

The role offers hands-on learning, a collaborative team environment, and opportunities to grow into Master Technician status. ASE, Brake, and CDL credentials are a plus. Coastal emphasizes safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• One (1) or more years of experience maintaining or repairing diesel trucks, heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, or related mechanical systems.
• Basic knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and preventive maintenance.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must provide and maintain a basic set of professional tools.
• ASE certifications, Brake Certification, Class A CDL, refuse industry experience, and bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections to maximize the reliability of our trucks and equipment.
• Repair and maintain refuse trucks, vocational vehicles, trailers, and heavy equipment.
• Utilize diagnostic software and electronic testing equipment to identify equipment failures.
• Perform welding, fabrication, and component repairs when qualified.
• Accurately complete repair orders, inspections, maintenance documentation, and parts records.
• Respond to emergency repairs and operational needs as assigned.
