Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a skilled automotive/mechanical technician at the SHIPPENSBURG USX TERMINAL. You will perform routine maintenance on tractors and trailers, inspect brakes and tires, and ensure fluids are topped up while maintaining productivity targets.

The role requires a high school diploma (Diesel Tech preferred) and may accept a 1-year experience with related certifications. This on-site position offers competitive hourly compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from a Diesel Technology program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers as outlined in USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring, etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission oil windshield wiper antifreeze).
• Change vehicle tires and grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain a high productivity level and complete most jobs within SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
