Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform basic preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers at the CHICAGO USX TERMINAL. The on-site role requires a valid driver’s license and at least basic mechanical experience.

The position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $23.03–$25.59 with a stable schedule: Wednesday–Saturday, 6:00am–4:30pm. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and PTO among others.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience preferred.
• DOT and Brake certification required to perform PMs and brake work.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Repair brakes, tires, wiring, and inspect vehicle systems.
• Check fluids and perform tire changes; grease components.
• Maintain a high productivity level and meet SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
