Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. operates a SHIPPENSBURG USX TERMINAL role focused on preventative maintenance and basic repairs of tractors. The technician performs routine inspections, brakes, tires, fluids and tire changes to keep equipment in top condition.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a diesel tech diploma preferred, and at least 1 year of mechanical experience. DOT and brake certifications are expected; tools are provided by the employee or the shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors.
• Inspect brakes, tires, wiring and fluids; perform minor repairs.
• Grease mechanical parts and change tires as needed.
• Maintain high productivity and complete jobs within PM times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
