Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Lead Tractor Technician at the SHIPPENSBURG USX TERMINAL. The role involves testing, servicing, and repairing tractors, trailers, engines, and related components, while leading a team of technicians.

You will ensure saf ety practices, perform electrical system work, and manage disassembly/assembly tasks. A minimum of 5 years as a diesel mechanic and 5 years of trailer repair experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Minimum of 5 years trailer repair and maintenance experience.
• A Technical Diploma may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Test, service, and repair tractors, trailers, engines, and related mechanical components.
• Lead other technicians and ensure safety.
• Test and repair electrical systems and related components.
• Disassemble/assemble equipment and repair or replace worn parts.
• Diagnose, repair, and replace engine management components.
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness considerations.
