Job summary

U.S. Xpress, a leading asset-based trucking company, invites applications for a Technician, I Tractor at its Shippensburg, PA terminal. The role involves performing basic preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors, following USX PM guidelines, with a focus on safety and reliability.

Candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, a diesel tech diploma preferred, and at least 1 year of mechanical experience. Must provide own tools and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• DOT and Brake certifications required to perform PMs and brake work.
• Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
• Computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors per USX PM guidelines.
• Perform basic or minor repairs and inspections on brakes, tires, wiring etc.
• Check vehicle fluids (transmission, oil, windshield wiper, antifreeze).
• Change vehicle tires.
• Grease mechanical parts.
• Maintain high productivity and complete most jobs within or near SRT times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
