Job summary

U.S. Xpress, Inc. is seeking a diesel technician at the Duncan SC USX terminal to diagnose and repair trucks and trailers and to perform preventive maintenance.

Candidates should have a high school diploma (diesel tech preferred) and 3+ years of tractor/trailer experience; must provide own hand tools and a valid driver's license. The role emphasizes safety, DOT inspections, and maintaining productivity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Diesel Technology Program preferred.
• Experience in the transportation industry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission, engine, electrical, suspension, driveline, HVAC, brakes and air systems on tractors and trailers.
• Perform light trailer body repairs including doors, tires, lighting system.
• Perform basic and routine preventative maintenance on tractors and trailers.
• Repair/replace bolts on body parts such as hoods and cab extenders.
• Drive trucks and pull trailers using a yard jockey in and out of the shop before and after repairs.
• Perform DOT inspections and complete required forms accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean work area and high productivity.
