Job summary

AEP is seeking a Fleet Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on a wide range of Company vehicles and attached equipment. You will troubleshoot hydraulic and diesel systems, service braking and steering assemblies, and ensure fuel and exhaust systems function correctly.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of automotive diagnostics experience and may need to obtain a Class A CDL within 12 months. GED or high school diploma is required, along with a valid driver’s license and relevant

Qualifications

2+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis with hydraulic and diesel repair experience.
Graduation from an automotive trade school with diesel engine experience is highly desirable.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license and, within 12 months, Class A CDL if required by the Fleet Technician B role.

Responsibilities

Service and repair boom/pedestal assemblies of the Company’s specialized equipment, including troubleshooting and inspecting components.
Service and repair hydraulic systems, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and related hardware.
Inspect and repair A/C systems, including compressors, refrigerant components and test for leaks.
Troubleshoot and repair winch assemblies.
Service and repair steering, air brake, and hydraulic/electric braking systems.
Inspect and service differentials, transmissions, and power dividers.
Maintain and repair fuel and exhaust systems, including diesel components and governors.
Assist in diagnosing complex problems and training other employees as needed.
