Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Technician B to maintain and repair heavy fleet equipment and specialized vehicles. You will diagnose and fix hydraulics, diesel systems, and powertrains while ensuring safety and reliability across the fleet.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of automotive/mechanical repair experience, and a valid driver's license; Class A CDL must be obtained within 12 months. May require training and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years mechanical diagnosis with hydraulic and diesel repair experience.
• Diesel engine experience desirable; trade school graduate preferred.
• Valid driver’s license; obtain Class A CDL within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair boom/pedestal assemblies and troubleshoot equipment.
• Inspect and repair hydraulics, A/C, braking, steering, and fuel systems.
• Repair transmissions, differentials, and powertrain components.
• Assist in diagnosis of complex problems and train others as needed.
• Operate fleet vehicles and maintain tools and work area.
