Job summary

zTrip is seeking a motivated Fleet Tech to help maintain our growing fleet and ensure vehicles remain in peak operating condition. Join a team that values safety, teamwork, and technical expertise in a professional maintenance environment.

You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform quality repairs, and keep vehicles road-ready while maintaining detailed service logs and contributing to fleet readiness goals across a large national organization.

Qualifications

• Experience as Fleet Tech or related role.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics and preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Experience working on fleet or commercial vehicles preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance services on fleet vehicles to maximize reliability and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Conduct detailed inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness.
• Repair and replace components such as brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, tires.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards.
• Usage of diagnostic tools and recording service logs.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs.
• Minimize vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance.

What You'll Do as a Fleet Tech:

Fleet Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventative maintenance services on fleet vehicles to maximize reliability and performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and drivability issues.
• Conduct detailed inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational readiness.
• Repair and replace key vehicle components, including brakes, steering systems, suspension, electrical systems, tires, and other critical equipment.
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and repair technology to accurately identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records, repair documentation, and service logs.
• Help minimize vehicle downtime through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.
• Perform routine inspections and recommend preventative solutions that extend vehicle life and reduce repair costs.

Fleet Operations Support

• Collaborate with fellow technicians, maintenance leadership, and operations teams to meet fleet readiness goals.
• Prioritize repairs and maintenance based on operational demands and vehicle availability.
• Support preventative maintenance programs that improve fleet efficiency and reliability.
• Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend long-term corrective actions.
• Assist in maintaining a high level of vehicle availability to support customer service and business operations.
• Ensure all fleet vehicles meet company performance, safety, and quality standards.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety policies and industry best practices at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
• Properly operate tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery.
• Assist with compliance inspections and maintenance-related recordkeeping requirements.
• Support fleet safety initiatives by identifying potential equipment concerns before they become larger issues.
• Adhere to manufacturer specifications and company maintenance procedures.

What We’re Looking for in a Fleet Tech:

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Fleet Tech, Auto Technician, Fleet Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repair procedures, and preventative maintenance programs.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
• Experience working on fleet vehicles, light-duty vehicles, or commercial vehicles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-focused.
• Valid driver's license required.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and repair documentation preferred.
